This article explains how school administrators can configure Conference Settings in Edunation to control the behavior and permissions of participants during virtual classes. These settings determine what teachers and students can do within conference sessions, such as enabling chat, camera usage, and whiteboard access.
Instructions to Manage Conference Settings
Follow these steps to configure the virtual classroom settings for your school using Edunation’s School Settings panel.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Access the Conference Settings Panel
Navigate to the left-side menu and click on
Account Settings
.Under the expanded list, select School Settings.
Click the General Settings tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to the Conferences section.
Tip: Make sure you're logged in with an account that has administrative privileges to access these settings.
Step 2: Set the Provider and Timing Options
Choose your conference provider (e.g., Vedamo or BigBlueButton) from the dropdown menu.
Enter how many minutes before the lesson start time teachers are allowed to enter (e.g.,
5.00
minutes).
Step 3: Configure Participant Permissions
Check or uncheck the boxes based on your school’s preferences. Here are the most common permissions:
✅ Allows participants to speak/hear/see the whiteboard
✅ Mute participants on start
✅ Lock private chat or public notes
✅ Enable/disable camera feeds
✅ Allow or restrict file uploads and private chats
You can choose to enable basic features only or allow a more interactive experience, depending on your school’s policy.
Step 4: Save Your Settings
Once all preferences are configured:
Scroll to the bottom of the section.
Click the Save button to apply your changes.
